Your treatment has been accepted and you will receive an email code from our partner Signature Rx. Which you can take to most UK pharmacies, to redeem your medication (NB private charge for each script is payable to the pharmacy).
Your request has been declined, our clinicians will either offer an alternative medication or suggest you complete a video appointment to discuss things in more detail.

How does period delay treatment work

The treatment prevents your progesterone hormone levels from falling, which usually signals your period to start. By keeping your progesterone levels high your period is delayed until you stop taking the medication.

Do I still need to use contraception while using period delay treatment?

You will need to use other contraceptives e.g. condoms while taking the treatment as the period delay treatment is not a form of contraception.

How long will my period be delayed during the treatment?

The treatment can delay your period for up to 10-14 days. It is important to take your medication three days before your period is due, if you take the medication close to your period arriving the medication may not work, as hormone levels will likely have started to drop already.

Are there any side effects while taking period delay treatments?

All treatments can have side effects, common side effects include: headaches, sickness, bloating, breast tenderness and mood changes. If you begin to feel unwell during treatment, you must stop taking the medication and discuss with your GP or our clinical team.

Is it safe to use period delay medication often?

Using medication for period delay on an occasional basis such as for special occasions or holidays is considered safe. Frequent use is not recommended due to effects on your menstrual cycle. Safe use also depends on your medical history, which will be checked on the questionnaire you fill in.
